Yeh Rishta Kya Khelata Hai took a fourth-generation leap and introduced new characters, Abhira and Armaan. With this development, the lead actors Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathod quit the show. Even though television actors quitting shows has become a norm, YRKKH followed a very unusual path to execute this development. The fans, as well as we, believe that the makers were unfair to Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathod. Here are the reasons why:

1. Unnecessary importance given to a cameo:

Even though Jay Soni is a brilliant actor who did complete justice to his character, there was unnecessary importance given to his characters. For seven months, Abhimanyu was sidelined, and Abhinav was turned into a hero. The character of Akshara was also villainized to glorify Abhinav. According to the makers, Abhinav was always supposed to be a cameo, so why did the makers compromise with the leads to accommodate the cameo?

2. A very long separation of lead characters:

Although lead separation is a tried and tested formula in ITV, YRKKH makers took it to a whole another level by showing Akshara's marriage to Abhinav and having her insult Abhimanyu at every instance. For seven months, the makers showed no sign of reunion between Abhimanyu-Akshara, which made the audience lose connection with the lead pair.

3. Abhimanyu Akshara never got married again:

Post Abhinav's death, there were signs that the show would return back to its original plot, and Abhimanyu-Akshara would get married again. However, it never happened, and the makers showed Abhimanyu’s death.

4. Abhir's death and the next-generation lead is Abhinav-Akshara's child, who is named Abira:

Abhir, who was Abhimanyu Akshara's child, met an unfortunate fate and died. The new generation lead is Akshara Abhinav's child, which entirely removed all the traces of the Birla family and Abhimanyu. It seems as if the makers intentionally wanted Abhimanyu and everyone related to Abhimanyu to disappear, but why?
