Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is television's longest running fiction show in the drama category and has witnessed four generation leaps within the span of 15 years. However, the couple that remains unforgettable and most progressive to this date is Naitik-Akshara portrayed by Karan Mehra-Hina Khan. The couple was loved for their sweet and heartfelt chemistry.

Here are five reasons why we think they were the most progressive couple of television:

They stood by each other irrespective of the circumstances and barriers:

The best thing about them was they never left each other in difficult times. No other character could separate them despite the internal issues they had. During the most difficult times, they supported each other. When Akshara was kicked out of the house and blamed for a family member’s death, Naitik left with each other and stood by her through thick and thin. He never played the blame game with her.

They fought over relatable issues:

They never character assassinated each other or fought over a third wheel. Their fights were relatable. They shared common couple conflicts over work, children, and family.

Naitik supported Akshara to grow professionally:

Akshara was a homemaker who stood up to support her family in a difficult crisis. Natik was one of the rare male leads of television who was not insecure of Akshara’s singing talent or her business growth. He encouraged her to live her life and pursue her profession.

Death couldn’t separate them:

Even though Akshara died, Naitik lived with her memories and did not give her place to anyone else in his life. They were true soulmates who were united by pure love and respect.

They grew up together:

From being an immature newly married couple to becoming responsible parents, Akshara and Naitik relationship beautifully grew. They were not perfect and made many mistakes in their relationship but they never allowed their ego to come between. When they realized their mistakes, they apologized to each other and owed their mistakes.

Naitik-Akshara fondly known as Naksh were the least toxic couple seen in television who were bound together by true love, respect, trust, and kindness.
