Popular actor Sagar Parekh, known for playing Samar in Anupamaa, is about to try something new. He's joining the reality TV show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as a wildcard contestant. This show already features famous names like Sreerama Chandra, Shoaib Ibrahim, and Shiv Thakare.

Sagar explains why he's taking up this challenge, "I'm doing Jhalak because it will push me out of my comfort zone and make me push my limits. It's a fun experience and a big challenge. Being a wildcard entry is tough since I won't get any safety weeks, and the judgment starts right away. Some contestants are professional dancers, while I'm not. It's my first time dancing professionally without any training, so it's going to be tough to compete with these skilled dancers."

Sagar is aware of the tough competition but for him, the focus is on personal growth. He says, "It's not about competing with talented contestants. What matters is my journey to improvement. I'm challenging myself, and the real competition is within me. The judges want to see my capabilities and how much I can push myself. Jhalak is a big platform for non-dancers like me, and I'll learn a new skill from it."

Regarding his dancing technique, Sagar admits, "I have no experience in dancing. I've done only short dances for social media, which are casual compared to competitive TV shows. I have rhythm but no real dancing experience. Now that I'm in this, I realize it's not an easy job."

Sagar's choreographer for the show is Shivani Patel, whom he praises as one of the best in the industry. He says, "She's sweet, patient, and has that x factor. She makes difficult steps easy for me and ensures I push my limits beautifully without too much trouble."

Sagar is working hard for the show, practicing for 12-13 hours daily for the past four days, even though he's in pain. He shares, "My muscles and joints are swollen, and my skin has peeled off. I now understand the physical toll dance takes on actors."

Sagar, who considers himself a non-dancer, first danced as a kid at a New Year party. He loves Bollywood dance because it's stress-free and enjoys filmy dances without overthinking.

Talking about his dance icons, Sagar mentions, "India has a lot of talent. Whether it's Prabhu Deva Sir or Bosco Sir, each of them is a dance institution."
