Megha Chakraborty who essays the role of Imlie in Star Plus popular show Imlie, has won hearts with her remarkable performance in the show and chemistry with Karan Vohra. In an exclusive chat with us, Megha revealed her biggest fear, dream character, wish to work with Shahrukh Khan, intent on doing intimate scenes and a lot more.

What is your biggest fear?

I am scared of spiders. I also have a fear of losing loved ones.

What is your dream character?

I would love to play something like Alia Bhatt in Raazi. The character was based on a true story. I feel very inspired by real life heroes and would love to play something like that. I don’t want to always play romantic characters.

When was the first time you fell in love?

I have always felt immense love towards dogs from childhood. In every set I shoot, I always take responsibility for the dogs there. I feed them, give them medicine etc. In terms of humans, I had a crush on a guy when I was in 11th standard. I always studied in a girls' school. When I used to go to coaching classes, there was a boy who I really liked.

What was the best dish cooked by you?

I make a great mushroom omelette. I love continental food. I am obsessed with continental breakfast such as mash potatoes, spinach omelette, bread toast, etc and I can make and present these quite well.

Khuli kitaab with some garam masala

What is one thing you love and hate about yourself?

I love everything about myself. I hate that I get attached to people too easily and I also start trusting people easily. The people around me then start taking me for granted so that is something I want to change.

What is one thing you like and dislike about the television industry?

I love how people love you like crazy with abundance but I also feel that they forget you very quickly as well. Yes, there are some fans that are very loyal toward you and follow you with their heart on every show. But many of them just disappear and forget you like you never existed.

What was the happiest moment of your life?

I feel like I am yet to experience my happiest moment. I have not met Shahrukh Khan yet. The day I meet him will be my happiest moment. Otherwise, a very happy moment of my life would be when I took my parents out for a trip with my own money. Their smiles were priceless.

When were you most proud of yourself?

I feel proud when I help dogs or donate toward animal shelters. Irrespective of the amount, I feel proud that I got the chance to associate myself with such a good cause. I also feel proud of the fans that I have gained over the years. I took my parents out for dinner and people stopped us to take pictures with us. My dad captured those beautiful moments so he could go back home and show everyone.

What is one thing that you have done to move on from an ex?

I block them from social media platforms. I am not someone who believes that you can be friends with your ex after a breakup. If I am with someone tomorrow, I won't like it if they are friends with their ex. I don’t see how it is possible for you to be friends with someone you once were in love with post breakup.

What is one thing that you would never do for work?

I am not interested in doing bold or intimate scenes even if it is required. Nowadays, every web series has such scenes but I am not comfortable doing them.

What is one advice you would give to your 15 year old self?

Do not trust people easily. Use your brain before putting trust on anyone.

Who is your favorite actress?

I love Kajol and Alia Bhatt. I also like Kareena kapoor.

What are your goals for yourself personally and professionally?

Personally, I always want to stay happy-go-lucky and positive. Professionally, I await the day when I will share screen with Shahrukh whether it's an advertisement or anything. I am in love with him and there are so many times he came to Kolkata. My friends got passes but I never went because I did not want to be part of the crowd. I want to personally meet him.
